Project description

Families that face the heartbreaking burden of caring for a seriously ill child need all the support they can get. This first conference on Family Centered Care on Curacao brought together professionals from different backgrounds, from medical to administrative, that are active in providing support to these families.

The morning sessions were geared towards professionals in this field, like doctors, nursing staff and specialists. The afternoon sessions were open to invited families of these sick children to join in order to receive information and share experiences. This created a very open , productive and at times emotional dialogue between the professionals in the room and the family members.

This first annual 'Family Centered Care' conference was an initiative of Ronald McDonald House Charities Curacao. About the conference RMHC had this to say:

KAYENA CONSULTING’S ROLE:

Kayena Consulting was hired by the IMCER Foundation to be an integral part of the organizing committee, responsible for;

  • Consulting on the content and structure of the program;

  • Coordinating all logistical details with the venue and other third party vendors;

  • Coordinating registration and handling communication with participants;

  • Consulting on all communication aspects both on- & offline;
